Spain – Regulator rejects complaints related to Telefonica convergent deals

Regulator rejects complaints against Telefonica fibre deals – Telecompaper.

According to Telecompaper, Spain’s CNMC rejected complaints filed by Vodafone and Orange against Telefonica’s bundling of free TV content in Movistar Fusion fibre deals. Orange and Vodafone alleged that the incumbent operator was abusing its position in Spain to reduce competition in the telecoms sector. However, the regulator said deals could be replicated and added that access to audiovisual content is not regulatedand therefore, alternative operators were in a position to create offers to compete.
