Korea watchdog slaps record fine on telcos
South Korea’s mobile operators have been slapped with another fine after all three were again found to be offering excessive subsidies.
The Korea Times reported on Thursday that the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has imposed a record 66.96 billion won ($59 million) fine that will be divided between the telcos thusly: SK Telecom will pay 36.46 billion won ($32.5 million), KT Corp will pay 20.24 billion won ($18.1 million), and Uplus will pay 10.26 billion won ($9.2 million)
